Product: Trident The Ultimate Fish Stick

I wrote the Trident company that sells fish sticks that my family likes. Here's what I wrote to them....."My family loves this product. I have recently became concerned about foods containing GMO's (genetically engineered).

I encourage you to get non-gmo ingredients. GMO's are hurting our health. Your product contains Yellow corn flour, rice flour, Yellow corn meal, sugar, Canola oil, Corn starch and Soybean oil, ALL OF WHICH CAN BE GMO. That's a lot of genetically engineered items in your product. Please consider sourcing those items as non-gmo or organic or substituting them. GMO's are often spliced with viruses, bacterias, genes, and antibiotic resistance. Please let me know if you can go gmo free. Here at Trident Seafoods, we are committed to providing you the best seafood possible and take great pride in producing top quality products. We support this commitment from the point our seafood is harvested to when it reaches your plate.

The ingredients used in Trident Seafoods finished products may or may not be derived from genetically modified ingredients. Current policy is to leave the selection decision up to the ingredient producer, who will make their choices based on existing agronomic and economic factors.

Accordingly, ingredients sourced by Trident Seafoods for the production of our products may result from in commingling of GM and Non-GM sources.

It should be noted that the U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency after numerous studies have concluded that GM crops present no undue safety hazard for the consumer.

We are continually incorporating consumer feedback to build improvements into our existing products (and to help guide us when creating new ones!). I will be forwarding your comments on to several key department staff members throughout our organization.
