I contacted more companies asking if they use gmo's

We appreciate your interest in Nature’s Place Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk.  In response to your inquiry, this product does NOT contain GMO’s.

We hope you enjoy Nature’s Place Almond Milk.

They are all non-gmo. To eliminate the confustion though, we are transitioning to a new product using tapioca maltodextrin, coconut and sunflower oils. You'll see that at the stores soon enough.

The current corn maltodextrin is grown in the US even, which we thought was pretty cool... but because SO MUCH CORN IS GMO in the US, it's easier just to switch over to tapioca maltodextrin... even if it is from overseas.

Also, the new formula removes palm oil from the recipe.

Thanks for the email!

Thank for your question. Tracy forwarded your question to us because we are the franchisees of the Vancouver location.  However, we generally purchase the same food products from the same vendors.

I’ve been doing a little research, so I am sorry I did not respond sooner. I am also sorry that I cannot answer your questions with complete certainty.  In the U.S., although many consumers want to know whether their food contains GMOs, there are no mandatory labeling requirements and GMOs are allowed.  I’ve interacted with food vendors who cannot answer with certainty whether or not certain food products contain genetically modified organisms because there is no required disclosure.  For example, our produce vendor works on trust with its growers (many of them smaller family farms in the Pacific Northwest) who say they do not use GMO seed (especially on products like corn and soy) but there is not guaranteed certification unless the items are certified organic.  At this time, not all of our produce or menu ingredients are organic, but at different points in the year that might vary.

I’m continuing to do more research on this so I can provide a more complete answer, and because I am personally interested.  It is possible we could make some changes down the road, and hopefully the legislation will change.  I’ll keep you updated.

Thank you!

Due to the prevalence of the GMOs in the commodity grain market, and the limited availability of verified non-GMO feed, we cannot require the use of only non-GMO feed for our products.

Your ‘final’ dairy products may be GM free but can you confirm that the grain/supplements fed to your cows are GM free?
The Irish Dairy Board and Kerrygold work closely with farmers to ensure the highest standards for our ingredients. GM is a relatively new issue in an Irish context. We are taking an active role in exploring the potential and challenges around using GM free grain in the Irish dairy industry. Supplementary feeds are important for the health of the animals. Some of these will contain soy and corn. At present, the Irish Dairy Board cannot guarantee that grain supplements used by farmers will all be GM free.
We can confirm that Kerrygold butter and cheese do not contain GM ingredients.
